If you’ve been in to see us, you’ve likely received a friendly hello from members of our amazing Environmental Services team while they’re doing everything they can to keep our facilities clean and safe. Today, we’re going #BehindtheMask with Arthur Davenport, a housekeeper who has been with Newberry for over a year!

What do you like about working at Newberry Hospital?

Everyone on the staff is so nice and kind.

What does your job entail?

I strip, wax, and buff all floors, hang all curtains, clean light fixtures, and all stainless steel sinks and doors. I’m also responsible for removing hazardous waste containers.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy working with my flowers and in the gardens and love keeping my yard looking good.

How has your job changed during the pandemic?

I’ve been doing all I can to keep myself safe, and others, too, and tell them to please take the vaccine.
