Oncology/Infusion

 

Newberry County is fortunate to have comprehensive cancer services, from diagnostics such as digital mammography, stereotactic fine needle biopsy and surgical biopsy for breast cancer to innovative treatments for prostate cancer to both chemotherapy and radiation oncology. Cancer treatment can be a time-intensive process so having these advanced treatment options close to home is a significant benefit to cancer patients and loved ones.

 

Medical Oncology (Chemotherapy)

Under the supervision of oncologist Dr. Steve Madden, Newberry Hospital’s certified oncology nurse and the staff provide state-of-the-art outpatient chemotherapy and infusion services within a bright, welcoming environment. Our staff are cheerful and highly competent; we do our best to make each patient comfortable during visits.

Dr. Madden sees patients in Newberry on Monday and Wednesday afternoons at Newberry Oncology Associates located at 298 Commerce Drive, two blocks from the hospital.

 

Radiation Oncology

Newberry Oncology offers radiation therapy under the care of Dr. Mark Ezekiel. This service is located at Newberry Oncology Associates, 298 Commerce Drive, and two blocks from the hospital.

 

Infusion Services

Newberry Hospital offers infusion services such as the administration of Reclast®, a once-yearly drug to prevent osteoporosis. Talk to your doctor about Reclast and if it is an appropriate treatment option for you.

Newberry Hospital also provides other infusion services such as:

  • Blood Infusions
  • Iron Infusions
  • Injections such as Prolia®, used to treat osteoporosis
