The Newberry County Memorial Hospital Wellness Center is a unique community health resource designed to meet your fitness needs in an environment that is both welcoming and supportive. Located right in front of the hospital, the Wellness Center has something for everyone, regardless of age and personal goals. Whether you are trying to lose a few pounds, maintain your weight or stay active and strong, we have the equipment, classes and professional staff to help you achieve your goals. HEARTFIT Gym Membership

Our innovative HEARTFIT gym membership starts with a personal wellness assessment outlining your current health status, where you need to be and safe recommendations to improve your health. Our gym is the only medically supervised gym in Newberry and membership to the Wellness Center includes all Group Exercise Classes for free. Call the Wellness Center, 803.405.7484, for information about Personal Training.

This 8-week program entitled "Freedom from Smoking" offers hope to those trapped in tobacco addiction.

Other Programs

The NCMH Wellness Center offers Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Diabetic Education, and Medical Nutrition Therapy. These programs require a physician referral. Please call 803-405-7484 for more information.

Free Programs

We offer a number of free classes to provide you with the information you need to make healthy choices. These classes address topics such as exercise, nutrition, diabetes and congestive heart failure. Please call 803.405.7484 for dates and times, and to register. 

EAT RIGHT: 2nd Tuesday of each month. This class provides education on healthy food choices and important tips for losing weight.
5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

LIVING WITH DIABETES: 4th Tuesday of each month. With a variety of topics including everything from "What is Diabetes?" to information on better nutrition, monitoring your diabetes and medication.
5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

DIABETES LUNCH AND LEARN: 2nd Wednesday of each month. This is a series of 3 classes (1 per month). The classes are taught by 3 different instructors that will cover "What is Diabetes," Diabetes Medication," and "Nutrition." Reserve by calling 803.405.7484
