Congratulations to our Annual DAISY Team Award Winners!
12/16/2024
Newberry Hospital has recently awarded the annual DAISY Team Award to the nurses in the New Beginnings Labor and Delivery department. There were several nominations for this team that included the statements below:
“I could not just pick one nurse. The entire nursing team on the Labor and Delivery Unit has been phenomenal. They are always checking on me and the baby to make sure that we are okay. I had so many positive interactions with the whole team during my entire stay here.”
“Thank you to the whole labor and delivery team. Over the past four years I have had nothing but good to say about everyone. You can tell when a team is well taken care of because of the service that they provide to others. I pray each of you continues to be taken care of, so you all deliver the same service, kindness, and love that my kids and I have received.”
“All the nurses were attentive, caring, professional and sensitive to my situation. They are the reason I delivered at Newberry Hospital. These nurses put in the work and make all the difference.”
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way. Nominations may be made by patients, family members, physicians and staff.
