How to Find Newberry Hospital
Junior Volunteer Summer Program
The Junior Volunteer Program is designed for students with an interest in healthcare. Program participation is an excellent way for area students to experience exciting healthcare options and service possibilities at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
We invite all interested student who want to learn, serve others and have fun to apply.
Who Can Participate
The program is open to students 14-20 years of age, who are enrolled in middle or high school and high school graduates waiting to enter college. The program lasts for seven weeks. Students must attend 6 of the 7 weeks.
How to Apply
Applications are provided to guidance counselors at Newberry County schools in February. Please ask your guidance counselor for an application! They must be completed and returned to the hospital by the date listed on the application.
What Happens Next
All applications are reviewed for completeness. Applications are processed on a first come, first serve basis. Each applicant will receive a letter outlining the status of his/her application.
Students accepted into the Junior Volunteer Program are required to have a tuberculin skin test provided by the hospital. Students must also complete an orientation. Orientation is held prior to the program starting and is mandatory. There are no make-up sessions.
Volunteering is fun and rewarding. To learn more, contact our Volunteer Director Angela Bowers by email or at 803.405.7130.
