Visitor Information


Visit Your Loved Ones
Visitors are encouraged to visit friends and family members. We think you are an important part of the healing process; however, please be sensitive to the needs of the patient for rest.

General visiting hours are: 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Intensive Care Unit: To provide therapeutic support for patient and family while maintaining patients’ rights, privacy and delivery of exceptional care in the critical care environment, visiting hours are: 10 minutes on the hour with a limit of two (2) visitors at a time. Notify the nursing staff for special requests.
New Beginnings visiting hours are: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Brother and sister visitation allowed. Children under 12 who are not siblings are not permitted.

Visitor Parking
Free visitor parking is available in the main hospital parking lot located in the front of the building (on Kinard Street). Handicapped parking is reserved at various locations in the front of the building. While parking at our hospital, it is suggested that you lock your car and do not leave valuables such as purses, etc. in plain view. If dropping off or picking up a patient, pull through the covered entrance way at the front of the hospital. Please do not leave your car unattended in the covered entrance way.

The Gift Nook
The Gift Nook, operated and run by the Newberry County Memorial Hospital Foundation, is located on the first floor at the visitor entrance. The Gift Nook is open on weekdays and has limited weekend hours. It offers cards, snacks, reading material, toiletry items, and charming gifts. The Gift Nook proceeds support NCMH through Foundation projects.

Visitor Waiting Rooms
Comfortable visitor waiting rooms are located on all patient units and in many service areas.

Guest Meals
Guests may purchase meals from the cafeteria. You may also order a guest tray through the nursing staff up to one hour before meals. Guest tray costs are:
Breakfast: $3 Lunch: $5 Dinner: $4
There are also vending machines on the first floor next to The Gift Nook and under the ER Canopy.

Cafeteria Hours
Breakfast: 6:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (weekdays only)
Lunch: 11:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (weekdays only)
Dinner: Not currently available in cafeteria. Guest trays may be ordered through the nursing staff. See prices above.

Canteen
There is also a canteen with vending machines only open 24-hours a day on first floor in the lobby.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located throughout the hospital. Visitor restrooms are located on the first floor between the lobby and the laboratory. Visitors are asked not to use the facilities in the patient’s room.
