Emergency Department
We're here for you. We offer emergency medical services to the community every day of the year, every hour of the day. Individuals are served according to the seriousness of their medical condition. We encourage individuals to contact their primary care physician whenever possible and/or appropriate.

911 Ambulance Services
Emergency Ambulance Services are available throughout Newberry County with the 911 Enhanced Emergency System. Each ambulance is fully equipped for all emergencies. The most advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) serves on each ambulance.

The central 24-hour EMS station is located behind the hospital on Evans St. In addition, there are two 12-hour EMS stations in Whitmire and Fairview in the Lake Murray area. Quick Response Vehicles (QRV) are also available in Pomaria and Silverstreet. (See below)

EMS medical personnel observe South Carolina state field triage protocol. The goal of this protocol is to assure that the patient receives the appropriate level of care. When appropriate, patients are transported to the regional trauma care center. It is the policy of the service to transport for medical reasons only. This policy was put in place October 1, 2006.

Quick Response Vehicles (QRVs)
Quick Response Vehicles (QRVs) with appropriate EMS personnel are located in Pomaria and Silverstreet eight hours a day. These QRVs significantly shorten response time to emergencies, thus improving patient outcomes.

Non-emergency
For a non-emergency transport, call 924-8126. For more information about this service, please click on Services and go to Non-emergency.
