Innovation at Play and Work

All Winners at Weekend of Wellness

The weather was beautiful. And, the community came out to run, walk, jog and cycle for the hospital’s 6th annual Weekend of Wellness. Everyone who came out was a winner!

Special recognition was given to Prosperity Rikard Elementary School for having the most participants in the Junior Jog. Those who finished first, second and third in the age groups were: 6 and under—Sam Hawkins, Jackie Arvizu and Tyler Beech; 7-9—Jordan Cary, Brady Ruff and Ben Hawkins; and 10-12—Ethan Metts, Jordan Cary and Ben Hawkins. See pictures.

In addition, the winners of the 12-week community-wide Battle of the Bulge were announced at the Weekend of Wellness. Community winners were: Francine Wright, Jerry Faulkenburg and Wanda Shealy. NCMH employee winners were: Beth Carricato, Heather Cameron and Tracey Cornejo.
Total weight loss for all participants who completed the Battle of the Bulge was 319 pounds! Congratulations. Their recipe for success is simple. Healthy food choices and portions, and exercise, exercise, exercise. It’s a way of life that can improve your quality of life. Congratulations to all participants.

The NCMH Wellness Center thanks Kraft Foods, the City of Newberry, the Newberry County Sheriff’s Department, NCMH Volunteers, Medi Home Care, Med-x-press, Murray Sugar Free Cookies, Pioneer Foods, Palmetto Health Hospice for their support of the Weekend of Wellness.
