The Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace

The Affordable Care Act requires almost everyone to have health insurance. If you have coverage through Medicaid, Medicare or the State Health Plan or group insurance through your employer, you don’t need to change. If you are uninsured or have individual health insurance, you should visit www.HealthCare.gov to see how much it will cost. Here is other useful information:

The Health Insurance Marketplace opens November 1, 2015.   Open enrollment ends February 31, 2016.

  • Compare your coverage options
  • Consider your budget
  • Enroll in a plan that balances cost and coverage

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY

  • Social Security number (or document numbers for legal immigrants)
  • Birth date
  • Pay stubs, W-2 forms, or Wage and Tax Statement
  • Policy number of current health insurance
  • Information about health insurance you or your family could get from your jobs
